Multiplayer Roadmap
Over the last few weeks, we have been working out the details of what multiplayer will look like in Stepcraft. Now we want to update you on what we're working on, and what we're planning.
We believe playing together with others boosts your motivation to make progress in the game and achieve your step goals. That's why we are bringing you features and mechanics that allow you to have fun in your walking adventures together.
Let's dive right in!
Where we're going
Cooperative gameplay
We are focusing on cooperative gameplay. We think this fits well with the cozy, collaborative and uplifting nature of the game we envision.
In practice, this means you'll be able to work together with your guild on guild activities and world quests. Working together will make you work faster, and more hands make work even lighter. You'll be able to create parties in your guild, and explore quests.
You will be able to compete against other guilds through guild leaderboards, and we'll also highlight your contribution to your guild on a new leaderboard.
Shared world
We are expanding the Stepcraft world from a fixed map to a shared world that you build together. A key part of this will be the Guild Hall, a guild specific area that you can build out. As you unlock more areas, you'll be able to do more things with your guild that benefit everyone in the guild.
Guild levels will grow the capability of your guild, by allowing more members to join, and unlocking more areas of the Guild Hall to be built. We'll be introducing shared guild storage, as well as community events that the whole Stepcraft world is a part of.
How we'll get there
Since we have a lot of multiplayer features planned, we will be releasing them in phases as we complete them. We have created a multiplayer roadmap, to show what will be released together in each phase. We've also updated our roadmap to refer to these phases, so you can get an idea of when we expect to release them.

Let's go together!
Throughout all of this, we are making sure that the game remains fun and engaging for solo players. Solo play can still be done offline or with a bad connection. For multiplayer features, we are optimizing for bad connections as much as we can, so you'll never lose progress because of a bad connection.
We are very excited for what these multiplayer features will bring to the game. Make sure to enable push notifications in the settings menu, so you'll be notified when features are released. And of course join our Discord to join the community and share your thoughts.
